Before converting a spa to AquaSPArkle O2 Gentle, it is recommended that the spa is drained and re-filled with fresh water. The spa should then be shock dosed with chlorine.
Instructions:
- Brand new spas or spas left drained for a period of time require an initial chlorine shock or start-up dose of 50mg/l (ppm) of free chlorine circulated for a minimum of 1 hour. Existing spas converting to the AquaSPArkle O2 Gentle system should be drained and re-filled with fresh water then shock dosed with a chlorine shock product.
- Maintain pH levels within the ideal range of 7.2 – 7.6.
- Initial Dose: Add 25g of O2 Gentle Granules per 1,000 of spa water directly into the spa with the pump(s) running. In addition, add 40ml AquaSPArkle O2 Gentle Liquid per 1,000 of spa water.
- Ongoing Dose: Prior to spa use, add 15g of O2 Gentle Granules per 1,000 litres of spa water directly into the spa with the pump(s) running. Also each week, add 10ml of AquaSPArkle O2 Gentle Liquid per 1,000 of spa water directly into the spa water.
- Once the O2 Gentle Granules have fully dissolved, check the active oxygen (MPS) level using active oxygen 3-way test strips. The active oxygen (MPS) level should be between 5 – 10mg/l (ppm).
- A weekly dose of AquaSPArkle Spa Fusion is recommended to assist in removing excess bather contaminants.
Note: AquaSPArkle O2 Gentle Granules must be used in conjunction with AquaSPArkle O2 Gentle Liquid.

Before using these chlorine tablets, it’s crucial to ensure your pool’s pH levels are within the ideal range of 7.2 – 7.6. Given the gradual chlorine release, it might be necessary to shock your pool initially to establish chlorine levels more rapidly.
The recommended chlorine levels for a bacteria-free swimming pool typically range between 1-3 mg/l (ppm). Achieving this balance is essential for crystal-clear, odourless pool water. Application Instructions
1. Maintain pH levels within the ideal range 7.2 – 7.6. If the level is not in this range, adjust.
2. Maintain free chlorine residuals within the range Pools: 1 – 3mg/l (ppm); Spas: 3 – 5 mg/l (ppm). * Freshly filled spas require initial shock or start up dose of 50mg/l (ppm) for 1 hour or 20mg/l (ppm) for 2 hours.
3. This product may be applied directly to pools and spas where temperatures exceed 20ºC. If below this temperature or in doubt pre-dissolve this product in a clean plastic container at a maximum rate of 100g of product per 2.2 gallons (10l) of water. Stir well to ensure the product is fully dissolved. Add the resulting solution to the pool or spa whilst the pump(s) are turned ‘on’ preferably near the water inlets to aid distribution.
4. Repeat dose application if necessary to achieve levels in point 2 above.
5. It is recommended that you periodically (e.g. weekly/fortnightly) shock or oxidise your water, using shock or oxidiser products, to eliminate any excess contamination.
