General instructions
If there is algae already present, this should be treated prior to applying Lo-Chlor Algaecide by shock dosing the pool with either a shock chlorine or non-chlorine shock product then running the filtration for 24 hours.
- Ensure no bathers are using the pool before application.
- The pH level should be in the 7.0-7.2 range, adjust if necessary.
- Thoroughly clean the pool by brushing the walls and floor, vacuum the pool and filter as normal.
- Using the below dosage table, add the required dose to water in a clean plastic bucket. With your circulation running, evenly distribute around the perimeter of the pool.
- Circulation of the pool water should be continued for 24 hours, ensuring no other chemicals are added during this period.
- Adjust the pH to within 7.2-7.6 if not in this range already.
- After 1 full turnover of the pool water (typically 4-5 hours) bathing can be resumed.
Notes:
- After using Lo-Chlor Algaecide it is recommended to use Lo-Chlor Starver phosphate remover. This will prevent the re-occurrence of algae, and assist in helping the efficiency of other chemicals in your pool.
- Copper in water will reduce the activity of chlorine and bromine – check levels 24 hours following application and adjust to recommended range if necessary.

Application Instructions
1. Maintain pH levels within the ideal range 7.2 – 7.6. If the level is not in this range, adjust.
2. Maintain free chlorine residuals within the range Pools: 1 – 3mg/l (ppm); Spas: 3 – 5 mg/l (ppm). * Freshly filled spas require initial shock or start up dose of 50mg/l (ppm) for 1 hour or 20mg/l (ppm) for 2 hours.
3. This product may be applied directly to pools and spas where temperatures exceed 20ºC. If below this temperature or in doubt pre-dissolve this product in a clean plastic container at a maximum rate of 100g of product per 2.2 gallons (10l) of water. Stir well to ensure the product is fully dissolved. Add the resulting solution to the pool or spa whilst the pump(s) are turned ‘on’ preferably near the water inlets to aid distribution.
4. Repeat dose application if necessary to achieve levels in point 2 above.
5. It is recommended that you periodically (e.g. weekly/fortnightly) shock or oxidise your water, using shock or oxidiser products, to eliminate any excess contamination.
