- Initial Chlorine Shock:
- For brand new spas or spas left drained for a period of time, you need to perform an initial chlorine shock or start-up dose.
- Add 50mg/l (ppm) of free chlorine to the spa water and circulate it for a minimum of 1 hour.
- If you are converting an existing spa to the AquaSPArkle O2 Gentle system, drain and refill it with fresh water, then perform the chlorine shock dosing.
- Maintain pH Levels:
- Keep the pH levels within the ideal range of 7.2 – 7.6.
- Initial Dose:
- Add 25g of O2 Gentle Granules per 1,000 liters of spa water directly into the spa with the pump(s) running.
- Additionally, add 40ml of AquaSPArkle O2 Gentle Liquid per 1,000 liters of spa water.
- Ongoing Dose:
- Before using the spa, add 15g of O2 Gentle Granules per 1,000 liters of spa water directly into the spa with the pump(s) running.
- Every week, add 10ml of AquaSPArkle O2 Gentle Liquid per 1,000 liters of spa water directly into the spa water.
- Check Active Oxygen (MPS) Level:
- Once the O2 Gentle Granules have fully dissolved, use active oxygen 3-way test strips to check the active oxygen (MPS) level.
- Ensure the active oxygen (MPS) level falls between 5 – 10mg/l (ppm).
- Weekly Maintenance:
- It is recommended to perform a weekly dose of AquaSPArkle Spa Fusion. This will help in removing excess bather contaminants from the spa water.
