Apply daily to achieve the recommended free chlorine level of 1 – 3mg/l (ppm). The granules have little effect on the pH of the pool water and are stabilised which means chlorine loss to sunlight is minimised in outdoor pools.
Usage Guidelines:
- Keep your pH level within the ideal range of 7.2–7.6; make necessary adjustments if it falls outside this range.
- For pool temperatures exceeding 20oC, directly apply this product. If the temperature is lower or you’re uncertain, pre-dissolve the product in a clean plastic container. The recommended rate is 100g of product per 2.2 gallons (10lt) of water. Stir thoroughly to ensure full dissolution and add the solution to the pool or spa with the pump(s) running. For even distribution, consider placing the inlet near water inlets.
- If needed, repeat the application to attain your desired chlorine levels.

pH Minus Powder. The pH scale ranges from 0 to 14 and measures the acidity or alkalinity of the water. A pH of less than 7 means the water is acidic, a reading above 7 means the water is alkaline and a pH of 7 is neutral. Ideally the pH for swimming pools is between 7.2 and 7.6. Having the water slightly alkaline means that the pool is more comfortable for swimmers and the equipment is protected from the corrosive water. The effects of a high pH level (too alkaline) means the water can become cloudy, swimmers skin can become dry, chlorine becomes less effective and scale can form.

Product Description: Ensuring your swimming pool remains a safe and enjoyable space requires the effective control of bacteria, and the most common method for achieving this is by using chlorine. However, before introducing chlorine, it’s imperative to establish the correct water balance. Once the water balance falls within the recommended pH range of 7.2 – 7.6, maintaining chlorine levels between 1.0-3.0 mg/l (ppm) is typically sufficient to preserve a bacteria-free swimming environment.
There are two key indicators of a well-managed chlorine-treated pool: it should be odourless, and the level of chloramines should be maintained at less than 0.5 mg/l.
Usage Guidelines:
- As these tablets release chlorine gradually, consider performing a shock dose or oxidation treatment before their use to establish chlorine levels more rapidly.
- Important: Do not add the tablets directly to the pool. Always use a clean applicator, ensuring no other products are present.

Application Instructions
1. Maintain pH levels within the ideal range 7.2 – 7.6. If the level is not in this range, adjust.
2. Maintain free chlorine residuals within the range Pools: 1 – 3mg/l (ppm); Spas: 3 – 5 mg/l (ppm). * Freshly filled spas require initial shock or start up dose of 50mg/l (ppm) for 1 hour or 20mg/l (ppm) for 2 hours.
3. This product may be applied directly to pools and spas where temperatures exceed 20ºC. If below this temperature or in doubt pre-dissolve this product in a clean plastic container at a maximum rate of 100g of product per 2.2 gallons (10l) of water. Stir well to ensure the product is fully dissolved. Add the resulting solution to the pool or spa whilst the pump(s) are turned ‘on’ preferably near the water inlets to aid distribution.
4. Repeat dose application if necessary to achieve levels in point 2 above.
5. It is recommended that you periodically (e.g. weekly/fortnightly) shock or oxidise your water, using shock or oxidiser products, to eliminate any excess contamination.

HTH Shock granular calcium hypochlorite can be used as a regular pool sanitiser, it is especially recommended for pools that are open all year round.
HTH Shock contains 10% more available chlorine than standard calcium hypochlorite and its fine particle size enables you to dose it directly into the pool rather than pre-dissolve.
It dissolves rapidly to form active free chlorine to kill bacteria and help control algae.
