- Maintain Ideal pH Level: Ensure that your water’s pH level falls within the recommended range of 7.2 – 7.6. If it’s outside of this range, consider using our pH plus or pH minus products to make the necessary adjustments for optimal results.
- Free Chlorine Residuals: For spas, aim to maintain free chlorine residuals within the range of 3 – 5 mg/l (ppm). In the case of swimming pools, the ideal range is 1 – 3 mg/l (ppm). If you’re filling a spa for the first time, it requires an initial shock or start-up dose of chlorine. Use 50 mg/l (ppm) for 1 hour or 20 mg/l (ppm) for 2 hours.
- Temperature Consideration: When the water temperature exceeds 20 degrees Celsius, you may directly apply this product to your pool or spa. However, if the temperature is below this threshold or if you are uncertain, it is advisable to pre-dissolve the granules. Use a clean plastic container and dissolve the product at a maximum rate of 10g per 0.2 gallons (1 litre) in water. Stir thoroughly to ensure the product is fully dissolved. Add the resulting solution to the spa or pool while the pumps are operating.
- Repeat Dose Application: As needed, apply additional doses to reach the desired chlorine levels.
- Periodic Shock Dosing: It’s advisable to periodically administer a shock dose to your spa, particularly after heavy use, to eliminate any excess contamination.
