This fitting is made to join 1.5″ pipe to 1.5″ female threads commonly found on filters, heaters and pumps. It also allows you to disconnect pipe without having to cut the pump, making it easier to remove your hardware e.g: Pump, filter and heater if they need repairing or replacing.
